Many things to come in 2023

After a LONG hiatus from writing, I’m starting to get back into the groove! I wanted to take a look back on what I’ve accomplished so far. I’m not a pro by all means, but writing brings me joy. As a child, I was often told I had a wild imagination. Being an only child, I spent my time making up stories inside my head and playing them out. Little did I know then that I would eventually start writing them down and making a dream come true.

I’ve come a long way in the 13 years I’ve been learning the craft of writing. I have a long way to go but let’s just say I have WAY more confidence in what I do now. Which is a good thing because as a writer, readers and the general public will always have opinions. I know not every book I write will appeal to everyone. That’s okay. But I do believe that it’s my job to write the stories that come to me because I feel I’ve been given the storylines for a reason.

Romance is my chosen genre. Yes, I have the ability to write in many subgenres and for me that is exciting! I’m not limited to one thing. I can explore and learn from the public. I see the beauty in the little things. I see the beauty in people, even when they can’t see it within themselves. It’s my hope to show the world that all of us have a story to tell. Good or bad, there are lessons to be learned. Examples to be made. And people to inspire!

My writing style has developed over the years, and I feel I’ve finally found my writing voice and style. You can definitely see a difference between my first novel, Hearts Desire, and my last published book, Beyond Judgement. As with anything, practice makes perfect! I don’t think perfect writing exists, but we can at least say it has developed and improved.

With that being said, here is an update on me and what’s to come the year 2023!

I had hoped to get two books published last year. The key word there was “hoped.” Life and finances got in the way, and I was unable to complete that. However, I’m hoping that I can get them published this year!

Those titles are:
Unbreakable Series: Praised By Magic, Book 3 (Tyler & Kris’s story)
Hearts Desire, Book 1 & Fighting Secrets, Book 2 can be found on Amazon!

Beyond Series: Sacrifice, Book 2 (Allie & Eve’s Story)
Beyond Judgement, Book 1 can be found on Amazon!
It’s also included on Kindle Unlimited and can be found on the Prime Reading list until March 2023

Being a self-published author, I have to pay out of pocket for everything. Also being a stay-at-home mom brings challenges for time to write when the boys are home. It’s a constant balancing act!

Moving forward in 2022!

Well, we’ve made it to a New Year!

I don’t know about you, but for me this year has a different energy. An energy I haven’t felt in a long time. I feel at peace, energetic, and full of hope for 2022. The past two years have been difficult and, I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Many have fought silent battles, myself included, but we’ve made it through. I found a piece I’d written a few months ago when I felt things shifting within myself. From dark and gloom to hope and light. I’m sharing it with you below.

In today’s current world, it’s easy to lose sight of the beauty of life. But I want to encourage you to seek it. Staring at the tv or at countless news articles will only remove you further from peace. Don’t engage in and encourage the negativity being broadcasted to you; it’ll only keep you in the “doom” state of mind.

For a while, when Covid first became a thing, I was nervous and anxious every moment of the day, but as the days turned into a year and then, on, I sat down and really thought about things. Living life afraid benefits no one. It’s okay to be afraid, but don’t let it take over to the point where you lose your joy.

I have children and I don’t want them growing up in a world full of chaos, hate, judgment, or Covid, amongst other things, but here they are. They take everything in stride. It is true what they say; children are more resilient than we are. They still play, laugh, and have fun while enjoying everything kids do. My boys roll down luscious green grass-covered hills. They stomp their feet in the mud and splash in water puddles. They enjoy the rain while it is here, searching for a rainbow when the sun peeks from the gray clouds. Never losing sight of fun that each day brings.

In more than one way, my boys have helped me through this dark and difficult time. I may not know the answers to the many questions of Covid, but I know this tension we are all feeling will not last forever. Eventually, we will persevere as we’ve always done, but we must do it together. Being divided will only prolong this. Put your ego, your fear, your anger, down. Step outside and notice the beauty around you. The sunny skies, the birds chirping in the trees, the wind whispering in your ears, and the grass tickling your toes.

I’m planning many new things in 2022!

Eve’s letter to Allie

Beyond Sacrifice will focus more on Eve and her past. We’ll learn more of what makes her who she is. Eve is a complex and unique character. I’ve yet to meet someone who hasn’t fallen for her.

I know there’s nothing I could possibly write that would do justice for the love I have for you. I don’t think I can ever show you exactly how I feel about you. I’m no writer, that’s your department.

I’ve been thinking of a way to show my love for you, and while I’m still unsure on how to express my love for you, I felt I would do the best I can through writing. SO here it goes!

I know I’ve told you about the first time I saw you, but in case you’ve forgotten, I’m going to remind you. You were leaving the movie theater with Lindy and Logan. I stuck the shadows, trying to figure out who you were. My creator had sent me to kill you, but the moment your eyes looked my way, they saw right through me. Your smile, damn Allie. I’ll forever remember that smile. It, you, weakened more than just my knees. It compelled me to favor my good side. The angel side. Never before had someone held that power over me.

Your beauty is within your soul. The simplicity and essence of you is what brought us together. I was lost before I found you, Allie. 


My life has never felt like my own. I’ve always been running or doing things for those who owned me. I wasn’t happy. My anger pushed me forward. It caused me to believe that I was living the life I was supposed to. I didn’t choose this life. It was picked for me. I never wanted to hurt anyone or anything, yet that’s exactly what I’ve done. My past is dark and terrifying. I take complete responsibility for the horrible things I’ve done. My hands are soiled and my heart is riddled with regret. But there’s no going back. There’s no fixing it, no matter how much I wish I could.

Baby, I know you think I saved you. Maybe I have in some small way, buy it is YOU who has saved me. The moment I saw you, you awakened something inside of me. I feel more alive than I have ever felt. I no longer dwell in the dungeons of darkness within my soul. I live in the gleaming light. The warmth of your love has changed the way I view the world. It has changed the way I view my life. It has changed the way I view myself.

My future is bright and I can’t wait to live each second of it with you. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

🏷Fighting Secrets: Unbreakable Series by D.R. Bohannon is the second instalment in the series. Before I begin the review, I’d want to remind everyone about what happened in book one, “Hearts Desire,” where Kris, our gorgeous protagonist, went on a vacation to avoid the spotlight and met Tyler, with whom she now has a strong relationship.

🏷The tale picks up after the events of book 1, with Kris returning to her famous life after a long vacation. Tyler had a special place in Kris’ heart, and she couldn’t stop thinking about him even after she returned. Soon after, she hears a knock at the door and is shocked to find Tyler, who appears to be concerned.

🏷Later in the story, Tyler told Kris about a gypsy woman telling his grandfather that his grandson, Tyler, would meet a girl who needed to be protected, because she held the key to overcoming the challenges that lay ahead, such as government agencies, and that he needed to teach her to defend herself both physically and mentally. Everything he said about falling in love with her and the birthmark piqued my interest and left me wondering what would happen next.

🏷Both of them are now embarking on a perilous and mysterious trip to an unknown destination. Kris must battle an underground government power-seeking agency through a sequence of physical and psychological events not only for her own freedom, but also for the freedom of everyone she cares about. Without giving too much away, I’d want to encourage you to get your hands on a copy of this fascinating novel.

🏷Everything was top-notch, the extraordinary tale had me captivated throughout. The title fits the narrative nicely and is self-explanatory in places, but the book cover completely alters the idea of an actress who is now fighting secrets.

🏷Overall, I had a great time reading the novel and give it a thumbs up. I would strongly advise everyone to read the book since it is thriller and the narrative will not disappoint.

🦋The book “Fighting Secrets” is Book 2 of Unbreakable Series. I have already reviewed the Book 1 of the series “Hearts Desire”, if you haven’t checked it out yet, please go and have a look. The story is in continuation to Book 1.
Kristina, the celebrity is back in Hollywood after a break in a small Midwestern town from all the auditions, paparazzi and glamour and she sought normalcy and peace on her break. She actually needed it so bad. To her surprise and good fortune, she had found the love of her life, Tyler.

🦋Kris was in her apartment and suddenly someone knocked her door. It was Tyler who panickingly said that they need to run away to some other place. Kris did not know what had happened and why Tyler was saying all this. She did exactly what Tyler asked her to do. They started off with their journey during the night and Kris didn’t know where they were heading.

🦋Once there, a family secret comes to light, one that puts Kris’s life in jeopardy. She must fight an underground government power-seeking agency through a series of both physical and psychological events, not only for her freedom, but also for all those she loves.

🦋The best part about the story is Kris and Tyler are madly in love and have a great chemistry. I was overwhelmed to see their bond, their love. The story is too interesting and you’ll find yourself hooked to the book throughout. The narration flows perfect and I simply loved the book cover and the title perfectly matches to the storyline. For better experience and better understanding, I’d suggest everyone to first read Book 1 and then this one. It’s absolutely an amazing read.

Image They’re watching…

While this may seem like a simple comment. I’ve come to understand it on a deeper level. I work hard on creating eye-catching images to go with quotes from my books. Humans are naturally get-to-the-point creatures. They want information as soon as possible. Books take time for you to fall in love with them. Unlike a song or a piece of art, that you can within seconds to minutes decided whether or not you like it.

Books take longer. Both to create and read. It takes a certain amount of perseverance to finish.

I mentioned to my husband that I can see how many views the images, writings, and other things receive. Yet hardly anyone reacts to them. I go back and forth on whether or not what I’m doing is working. Am I reaching the audience I’m searching for or am I simply talking to a wall?
I still don’t have an answer to that question. I can say that I’ve been learning and trying to better my craft. I hope that I’m reaching someone. Even though they are silent, I know they are watching.

How do I know?

By the reviews I’ve been receiving.

Reviews mean more to an author than readers seem to understand. When you post a book review or even a comment on a piece of work, it is both humbling and rewarding. We get to see that what we’ve created has been absorbed and understood. That our words mean something to you. We’ve made a difference in your life, even if just for a second.

My message here is to any artist, writer, or creator of any kind. What you do matters. It may seem like you are just shouting into the wind, but someone somewhere is listening and watching.

You are someone’s idol.
